well that got my heart pumping

Our illustrious bank, which for the purposes of this discussion we shall call, oh, say, Washington Mutual Masturbation Bank, has decided to impose a $10 service fee on our savings account, which is earning less than .3% on a rather substantial deposit amount.

This month's interest? $1.63. Yah. On a five-figure deposit.

The customer service rep refunded the charge, and I'm going to be looking for a new type of account tomorrow, or a new bank next week.

I really should pay more attention.

my bank did the same thing....$5 monthly service fees because my savings was (substantially) less than $500.

since i earn only pennies of interest a year, it was costing me dearly to keep that savings account, yet i had no idea.

i went in and talked to a "personal banker" who said that there were letters sent out telling customers of the changes.

i said i never got the letter.

he had mercy, removed the charges, reinstating the money the bank had taken out of my pitiful little account, and told me what kind of account i needed to avoid future charges.

criminy!!

if i hadn't noticed, my savings would have been all gone!

Man I hear you. I just hate banks in general. Paying attention, yea. I have issues and not sure how to help you solve that one.

(damn dreamy pisce's mind wandering to the beauty of the world, or the getting caught up in worrying about the dark swirling vortex schtuff...)
