peaceful responsibilities
hobbitt's been away for the week. I miss his big webbed toes. I miss his embrace. I miss him.
Enough about that.
I've been cat-sitting for my friend Melanie. Both the cats have total freedom to roam outdoors at all time. Considering the amount of litter I had to clean on Monday compared to today, I have some suspicions that one of the kitties may be missing. She has told me in no uncertain terms that the older, long-haired cat no longer goes to the vet. Well, all righty then. The big fat DSH tabby is certainly pooping in the potty, as well as accepting of my felicitations.
My time at her home is interesting. It's remote (30 acres) and quiet. But it's more than that. It's peaceful. Peaceful in a soul-restoring way. She's a physician and her husband is an artist. I could spend the whole day there, just looking out the window and absorbing the vibes. And reading their magazines. In fact, today while I was just sitting there, absorbing the vibes and reading science magazines, the power went out.
I only realized this because their UPS device started chirping. And I called there this afternoon, and the answering machine picked up, so I know power is back again.
It's lovely to sit in the midst of their long life together and enjoy the peace. I have two more weeks of cat-sitting so I'm sure to benefit greatly.
